Blank Page Studio is designed to support creative community
Community
Blank Page Studio is aligned with a curated selection of unique local artists and entrepreneurs who shape our space. Each community member has established roots within their own discipline and respective community. The confluence of these individuals informs our collective direction.
Projects
Projects and collaborations introduce creative process into the public realm through playful interventions, artistic productions and community events. We intend to form meaningful relationships with individuals and groups recognizing a need to support and build a collaborative, local economy. Through our initiatives and hard work we employ a grassroots approach towards the creation of public art and community building.
We are in Treaty 7 Territory
In the spirit of respect and honouring the first residents of this land, their oral practices, culture, and relations who continue to call this place home we acknowledge that this land is the ancestral territory of the Siksikaitsitapi (the Black Foot confederacy), and is known as Treaty 7 territory.
We acknowledge the Treaty 7 signatories including the Siksikaitsitapi (the Black Foot confederacy) comprised of the Kainai, the Piikani, and the Siksika nations, the Dene of the Tsuut’ina First Nation, and the Îyârhe Nakoda, Stoney Nakoda Nation, including the Chiniki, Bearspaw, and Goodstoney First Nations. We also acknowledge the traditional names of the City of Calgary, where the bow river meets the elbow river, including Moh’kinstsis to the Blackfoot, Wîcîspa to the Stoney Nakota, Guts’ists’i to the Tsuut’ina, and Otos-kwunee to the Métis.
Additionally the City of Calgary is recognized as home to the historic Northwest Métis and of the Otipemisiwak Métis Government, Métis Nation Battle River Territory: Nose Hill Métis District 5 and Elbow Métis District 6.
We extend this acknowledgement to all those, Indigenous and non, who make Treaty 7 home.
